Have you seen any flying machines in the sky lately? If so, it wouldn't be surprising, because there are officially 9,259 drones registered in Maryland. That includes hobbyists and non-hobbyists.

The Federal Aviation Administration just released a searchable database of location data for registered drones.

Here's some interesting local data. Ellicot City has 200 drones registered. Pasadena comes close with 147. Mount Airy has 64, and Forest Hill has 42.

The FAA requires that all drones more than .55 lbs need to be registered. Registering is easy -- you just need $5 to do it online.
