All great teams suffer the occasional loss, right?

That's the not the case for McDonogh girls lacrosse head coach Chris Robinson. His program hasn't lost a game since April of 2009. He thinks that's 167 consecutive wins.

"We're 12-0... this is unprecedented success," Robinson said.

For his four senior captains, they've never lost a game as an Eagle.

"They've had losses in other places, like club lacrosse or whatever other sports, but certainly to our lacrosse program it is unique," he said.

The key to his success? Coach says it's taking one game at a time.

"It's the next game," he said. "And you know a lot of people don't believe that. And it is kind of a coach's lingo type of thing, but I truly believe that's been a part of our success."

His captains say take no games for granted.

"It's nice to know that our hard work all pays off," senior defender Marge Donovan said. "Our warm up shirts, on the back it's 'earned, not given' and I know we're going out in each game and earning those wins."

For senior midfielder Andie Aldave, she expected to be pushed when she stepped on the field as a freshman.

"Every girl who plays on this team, or just in the lacrosse program in general, is very passionate about the sport," she said. "They love to play it and love to play it hard."

This team, and the program, show no signs of slowing down. But for coach, it's just about finishing the season strong, one game at a time.

"We're just trying to keep on improving and be the best team that we can be by the end of the season," Robinson said.
