A ban on buying and using electronic weapons like tasers and stun guns is lifted in Howard County.

The county council overturned the ban after a lawsuit was filed against Howard and Baltimore counties, as well as Baltimore City last month.

The three plaintiffs involved in this case claimed they wanted to buy tasers to use for self-defense and were not able to because of the ban.

The county's initial response to the lawsuit is set for tomorrow.

In a ruling last year, the Supreme Court suggested stun guns and tasers are protected under the second amendment.
