Research shows behavior problems more prevelant in young kids following divorce

Long term effects of divorce on kids

If parents divorce when their kids are preschool age, those children could be at risk for behavior problems.

Georgetown University and the University of Chicago released the research.  It says disruption during a child's first three years strongly influences their development.

Researchers analyzed nearly 3,500 students.  The study's co-author said the behavior problems tend to happen with the move from a two-parent to a single parent household.

There didn't appear to be negative behaviors associated with going from a single-parent home to a blended family.
