Parents spend thousands of dollars to protect kids with bulletproof items

BALTIMORE - More bulletproof items for kids to wear are hitting the market.  A Colombian business man has launched a line of bulletproof backpacks and vests for kids.

He says his company started getting emails after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut asking for protective clothing for children.

The costs can be upwards of several thousand dollars per item.
