Black Panthers post $10k reward for Zimmerman

Black Panthers offer $10k bounty

Sanford, Fla - The announcement was made Saturday by new Black Panther leader Mikhail Muhammad during a rally in Sanford, Florida. Muhammad went on to say "An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth," when asked if the proposed bounty was an outright call for violence.

The rally was the third staged by the Black Panthers in two weeks since the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The shooter, 28-year-old George Zimmerman, served as the leader of a neighborhood watch group in a gated community in suburban Orlando. Zimmerman has yet to be arrested by police for the incident.

The Black Panthers called for Zimmerman's immediate arrest and threatened to seek him out themselves if police were not willing to do so. "If the government won't do the job, we'll do it," Muhammad said.
