Merriweather Post Pavillion (MPP) announced Friday morning that it is undergoing a $55 million renovation project.

The 5-year renovation will include the following amenities: an expanded stage, backstage swimming pools, 10 artist dressing rooms, a new box office, concession stands, bathrooms and a VIP area.

Leading the renovation is MPP Vice President, Brad Canfied, who started working at MPP when he was only 12 years old.

Canfield will be assisted by MPP General Manager, Jean Parker, and Downtown Columbia Arts and Culture Commission (DCACC) Executive Director, Ian Kennedy. DCACC became the owner of MPP in November 2016.

The MPP 50th Anniversary celebration concert will take place on Saturday, July 15. Featured performers will include Jackson Browne, Willie Nelson, Father John Misty and Grace Potter.
