Lindsay Lohan's mom: 'Dad cost my daughter a place at New York rehab'

LINDSAY LOHAN's mother Dina has blamed her ex for the troubled star's 24-hour rehab merry-go-round, insisting he's the reason their daughter had to dash to California for her court-ordered 90-day treatment.

The troubled actress was originally supposed to start her stint at a facility in West Hampton, New York - where her estranged father, Michael, once sought treatment - but she hopped on a flight bound for Los Angeles at the last minute, flew to California and checked into a Newport Beach treatment center on Thursday (02May13).

She stayed there for less than an hour before leaving, prompting lawmakers to consider issuing an arrest warrant for Lohan and putting her back behind bars.

But early on Friday (03May13), the Mean Girls star showed up at the Betty Ford Clinic in California, where she previously spent time battling her substance abuse demons - and her worried mother could not be more relieved.

Dina Lohan revealed "Team Lohan" worked through the night to find the actress a suitable rehab facility and, phoning in to news show Access Hollywood Live on Friday morning (03May13), she opened up about all the drama of the past day.

She explained she pushed to get her daughter into West Hampton clinic Seafields, so Lindsay could be closer to home - but claims her father wrecked her chances of finding peace and solace there.

Dina explains, "I had put my ex into Seafields about 15 years ago... and he actually left the program in the middle... I was separated at the time, and he was arrested.

"They don't really like him at that facility, so he started calling them and berating them there, and they said, 'You can go there, but he certainly cannot be near here...' Michael just kept giving them a problem, so Lindsay had to pay a price for that."

And when problems arose in California after Lindsay checked out of the Morningside Recovery center after less than an hour, Dina turned to her daughter's former lawyer, Shawn Holley, for help.

She added, "Unbeknownst to us, we found out that there was (sic) some issues with that facility, so we had a team... work through the night, speaking to Shawn - who's an angel, who got her back into Betty Ford, which is an amazing program... It's been great for Lindsay and we're so happy and relieved that she's just in a place and can heal."

And Dina is convinced her daughter will leave the Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage a new person: "This will be it. Lindsay was extremely upset leaving all of us... She said, 'Mommy, this is not gonna happen again, I'm not gonna do this to you guys.'"
