Cal Ripken's new book talks about bullying

BALTIMORE - He is a philanthropist, an author, and of course, a hall of famer. Cal Ripken Jr. visited Good Morning Maryland today to talk about his new book, community work and his partnership with ABC2 News.

Ripken's new book, ‘Super-sized Slugger' talks about bullying, something that Ripken has faced.

Ripken said that he was bullied as a freshman in high school.

"We think as adults that it isn't as big a deal as it is, but when you are in a kid's body it feels like it's the worst thing in the world," said Ripken. "You don't know what to do, you don't know how to handle situations, and sometimes being able to reach out to a coach, parent or teacher helps solve that problem."

Ripken will be signing copies of his new book in the area this week. You can see him at the following places:

Monday, March 5

Tuesday, March 6
