Need to turn up the heat in the love department? Dietitian Janet Little tells us what foods can put you in the mood.

Zinc: helps to put “lead in the pencil” by increasing sperm count. Zinc helps to increase testosterone levels in both men and women. It is also a mineral lacking in many of our diets, so stock up on nuts, red meat and eggs.

Omega-3 fatty acids:  helps to increase circulation, great for the heart, reduces inflammation.  Essential fatty acids great for brain function – our brain is the largest sex organ in the body. Can be found in salmon, walnuts, avocados, fish oil capsules.

Polyphenols:  antioxidants that protect the heart and lining of blood vessels. Red wine, dark chocolate, strawberries, pomegranate juice are great sources.

Vanilla: mildly stimulates nerves, even the smell of vanilla can increase sexual sensations.
