One of the most active severe-storm seasons in recent history is about get even more active today and tomorrow.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a High Risk for tornadoes and severe storms across a part of Tornado Alley that stretches from north and northeast Texas into Arkansas. 

The SPC predicts that large and dangerous tornadoes are possible in the High Risk area, late this afternoon and into this evening.

A much broader part of the country has been placed in Moderate and Slight severe-storm risk areas, the latter stretching from Texas and Oklahoma all the way to upstate New York. 

Another storm outbreak is forecast for tomorrow, with a primary risk of tornadoes focused on Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky. 

But a broader of severe storms covers the entire eastern 1/3 of the United States.
