Big changes all start next week! In past Facebook postings I stated we needed to see key blocking in a spot that favors a colder and stormier storm track for the eastern seaboard. Well, things are about to change!
The key to this shift in warmth vs arctic air is found between Greenland and eastern Canada. Blocking over this region will allow the jet stream to turn negative allowing for a deep trough to transport fantastically cold air south into the eastern third of the nation. This has been a problem for most of the month of December. The bottled up cold air had nowhere to go but stay trapped over Canada however, the flood gates are about to open.
