Baltimore, MD - A powerful upper-level storm system continues to roll through the central plains tonight prompting the national weather to issue tornado watches and warnings for a number of states.
Large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes have already been reported in Oklahoma and Missouri. So far one confirmed tornado was reported in Lawton Oklahoma. Law enforcement officials have reported damage to a good year tire plant with no serious injures. Heavy rains have also accompanied these storms. Water rescues have been reported in Lawton, OK as well.
The storm system will impact the Midwest tonight into tomorrow with another round for severe storms and even tornadoes expected.
Maryland could feel the impacts from this system Friday afternoon. Warm moist air on top of the state could bring gusty storms late in the day on Friday. Maryland's Most Accurate meteorologist Mike Masco says given the right setup a few storms may test severe weather limits in the late afternoon hours on Friday.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has outlined the entire state of Maryland for general thunderstorms on Friday.
