There are run of the mill summer showers, thunderstorms, even downbursts, but then are are those occasionally phenomenal *tropical* rains that are so often produced by our tropical storms that strike the U.S. each year.
Yes, true "hurricanes" get most of the press due to packing much higher winds and storm surge, but in reality, those pesky tropical storms of cause the greatest amount of damage with the incredible amount of severe flooding they produce.
Case in point, as you will see in the attached VIDEO clip, parts of the "sunshine state" picked up more than 2 *feet of rain in just over 2 days. Simply amazing...
