As we move into the warmer Spring months, expect to see more construction projects closing down lanes, even major highways, and adding minutes to your ride.
One of the larger projects, the weekly overnight closure of the Beltway at Charles Street to erect a bridge over the interstate, will certainly impede late night drivers. Starting on April 12th, and scheduled to last until the end of the month and possible into May, all Outer Loop lanes at Charles Street will be closed beginning at approximately 11 p.m. and reopening at 5 a.m.
Westbound traffic on 695 will be diverted onto exit 25, through the Charles Street Interchange, to the Charles Street/Bellona Ave roundabout, then back to the Beltway just prior to I-83.
This could likely cause some inconvenience for overnight drivers, however, during those hours, traffic is very light and the impact will be fairly minor.
