A Maryland State Police trooper was taken to shock trauma Monday morning after either the trooper or his car was hit by a vehicle on Interstate 695.
Around 6:28 a.m. the trooper was responding to a crash on the outer loop of Interstate 695 in the area of Rt. 702, police said. A few minutes later, around 7:02 a.m., the trooper was injured. It was unclear as of post time whether the passing vehicle hit the trooper or his patrol car.
The trooper was taken to shock trauma for evaluation, but the injuries were not believed to be serious, according to police.
Traffic was being detoured onto Rt. 702 as of 8:50 a.m. Monday.
