BALTIMORE - It's Opening Day for the Baltimore Orioles and ABC2 News' Good Morning Maryland is down at Oriole Park for a behind the scenes look as we draw closer to the first pitch.
Good Morning Maryland will be speaking to a host of Orioles officials who play important roles for the organization. We'll speak with Ryan Wagner, the new PA announcer for the club, as well as the heads groundskeeper, Nicole Sherry, and Josh Distenfeld, head chef at Oriole Park.
The gates open at noon today for fans and pre-games festivities will get underway at 2:30pm. Officials with the Baltimore Orioles say Rick Sutcliffe will throw out the first pitch this afternoon. Sutcliffe was the pitcher when the Orioles first played in Camden Yards 20 years ago, when the park opened in 1992.
The Orioles say they have all sorts of festivities planned for the 20th anniversary.
The Orioles' Jake Arrieta will face Twins pitcher Carl Pavano. The game will start at 3:05pm.
