LOUISVILLE, Ky. - There won't be much room on the Churchill Downs track for Saturday's 137th Run for the Roses. 22 horses have been entered for the Kentucky Derby, two more than the maximum allowed field of 20.

The deadline to enter a horse for the race was Wednesday morning with the post position draw set to take place Wednesday evening.

The top 20 horses based on earnings in graded stakes races are eligible for the race. Those horses outside of that top 20 can only be entered into the race if any of the horses ahead of them withdraw before Wednesday evening's post position draw.

One horse that could be a question mark is one of the favorites. Uncle Mo is being treated for a gastrointestinal infection which the horses owner, Mike Repole, says could determine whether the colt runs in the Derby. Repole says if the horse has not recovered sufficiently, he won't run in the 1 1/4 mile race on Saturday.

Here are the horses entered into the Kentucky Derby based on their earnings prior to the race:

1. Uncle Mo
2. Dialed In
3. Archarcharch
4. Comma to the Top
5. Pants On Fire
6. Midnight Interlude
7. Soldat
8. Brilliant Speed
9. Master of Hounds
10. Twice the Appeal
11. Nehro
12. Mucho Macho Man
13. Decisive Moment
14. Animal Kingdom
15. Stay Thirsty
16. Santiva
17. Watch Me Go
18. Shackleford
19. Twinspired
20. Derby Kitten
21. Sway Away
22. Ruler on Ice

Sway Away and Ruler on Ice will only be in the race if any of the horses ahead of them withdraw.

The Kentucky Derby is the first leg of the Triple Crown which also includes the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes.

The 136th Preakness Stakes will take place at Pimlico Race Course in Northwest Baltimore on Saturday, May 21st. Three weeks later the Belmont Stakes will take place.

No horse has won the Triple Crown - winning the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes - since Affirmed pulled off the feat in 1978, the longest drought in Triple Crown history.
