It will be a very emotional day as friends, family, and players gather to say goodbye to Art Modell. His funeral will be held here at the Baltimore Hebrew congregation on Park Heights Avenue in West Baltimore.
Last night before the ravens first kickoff and before the National Anthem everyone took a moment to pay tribute to Modell.
The stadium fell silent in observance of Art Modell. We saw the loss on Ray Lewis' face. He saw Modell as a father figure.
Modell is best remembered for his contributions to the National Football League.
He was the owner of the Cleveland Browns from 1961 to 1995 and the Baltimore Ravens from 1996 to 2003.
He helped launch Monday night football and was also known for his charitable work. Modell is survived by his sons and six grandchildren.
The funeral begins this morning at 11 followed by a private luncheon. In lieu of flowers the Modell family asks that contributions be made to the seed school.
