TAMPA BAY -
It was a rough night Monday for Orioles fans.
After a disappointing loss to the Rays in Tampa, and a Yankees win over the Red Sox, the O’s are now one game behind the Yankees for the division lead.
To make matters worse, the Oakland Athletics won their late game and are now tied for the same record with the O’s.
As it stands right now, the O’s would have to travel to Oakland to play a one-game Wild Card game to get into the ALDS.
But there is still hope. There are a number of possible scenarios for the playoffs that get the O’s everything from the top seed in the AL, to where they currently sit today.
No matter what, one thing is for certain. For the first time since 1997, the O’s will be playing relevant baseball in October.
