Oriole superstar Gus Triandos has died.
He played for the O’s from 1955 until 1962. He was the first catcher to use and oversized mitt to catch a knuckleball.
Gus played in four All Star Games and his best year was in 1958, when he hit 30 homeruns and 79 RBIs.
Gus was so popular that Triandos Drive right off Timonium Road is named after him.
The Oriole Hall of Famer was 82 years old.
