JOPLIN, Missouri - St. John’s Regional Medical Center, which took a direct hit from the deadly tornado Sunday in Joplin, has released the first images from inside the building after the tornado struck.

Authorities said Wednesday at a news conference updating the situation in Joplin that the hospital had 183 people inside of it when the twister hit Sunday afternoon. Five died and four employees were still missing.

The five who died were patients in the critical care unit, officials said.

The images in the video above are from the hospital in the days after the tornado struck and from inside Memorial Hall at Missouri Southern State Univeristy, which is being used as a  shelter and triage center for the injured.
