OLNEY, Md. (AP) - A 2-year-old boy is dead after fire officials say he drowned in a pool at an Olney home Monday.

The boy was found in a backyard pool in the 17000 block of Sandy Knoll Drive just before noon. When emergency personnel arrived, a neighbor was performing CPR.

The boy was rushed to an area hospital where he died just before 2:00 p.m.

Fire officials say there was a caretaker and another young child at the home at the time of the drowning, but it was unknown where the other child was when the drowning occurred.

The investigation is ongoing.
