WASHINGTON (AP) -

A woman has been sentenced to eight years in prison in the stabbing death of a friend.

Forty-seven-year-old Blanca Ortiz, formerly of Silver Spring, Md., was sentenced to eight years in prison on Friday.

Ortiz entered an Alford plea to voluntary manslaughter in the death of 29-year-old Gabriela Lopez Hernandez in 2007.

Hernandez's was found in the bathtub of her apartment with multiple stab wounds.

Ortiz was indicted in October 2010 on a charge of first degree premeditated murder while armed. She was arrested in her native Argentina in September 2011.

Prosecutors say Ortiz will be deported to Argentina after she completes her sentence.
