Troopers hurt when DUI driver hits them

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WMAR) -  

Two Maryland State Troopers are recovering after they were hit by a drunk driver last night. 
 
Just after midnight Trooper First Class Manuel Moreno, 42, and Trooper John Cabrera, 34, were investigating a crash on the northbound lanes of I-95 in the area of Sandy Springs Road in Prince George's County. 
 
Agter putting up their flares, both troopers returned to the marked police patrol vehicle with the emergency lights on. 
 
While completing their reports, a 2001 Pontiac Sunbird driven by Arcenia Macklin, 48, or Laurel, drove through the flares and hit the patrol vehicle in the rear. 
 
The crash injured both troopers were were rushed to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that are considered non-life threatening. 
 
Macklin has been charged with driving under the influence and violating the move over law.
