Officials with Maryland State Police have confirmed a trooper was involved in a collision in Easton in which victims were airlifted to the hospital.
The crash happened at approximately 2:59 p.m. at the intersection of Route 50 and Dutchman's Lane. Officials say the trooper's vehicle collided with a minivan.
The 43-year-old male trooper, identified as Sgt. Kevin Beauchamp and the 65-year-old female driver of the minivan, identified as Gail Mills of Easton, were airlifted to Shock Trauma.
Officials say the trooper was traveling eastbound on Route 50 when the minivan crossed his path traveling westbound and attempting to turn onto Dutchman's Lane.
The trooper was treated and released, the driver of the minivan remains in serious condition.
Eastbound Rt. 50 had to be closed and earlier Monday evening. It has since reopened.
