HAGERSTOWN, Md. - State police say a traffic stop in Hagerstown led to a major marijuana seizure.

A trooper pulled over the driver of a 1979 Cadillac early Friday morning for not having a working light on the rear license plate.

Police say the trooper smelled marijuana, then searched the car and found a large laundry bag in the trunk. Inside the bag was 9 pounds of freshly cut marijuana.

The driver, 22-year-old Joshua Cunningham, and the passenger, 21-year-old Thomas Desmond, have been charged with possession with intent to distribute. Both are from Hagerstown and have been released on bond.
