In the event you missed the homestead tax credit deadline, state officials want you to know you have a short window at a second chance to apply.
Hand-delivered homestead tax credit applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. today (January 2).
The applications should be taken to the Homestead Tax Credit Office at the Department of Assessments and Taxation on the eighth floor of 301 West Preston Street.
Why?
Officials say the day was added as a make-up day due to holiday closures.
Applications will be available at the office or can be downloaded at http://www.dat.state.md.us/sdatweb/homestead_application.pdf
