OCEAN CITY, Md. - Engineers from Holland are on their way to Ocean City to try and figure out what went wrong on the TIdal Wave rollercoaster at Trimper's Rides.

Around 10:00 Thursday night, three children waiting in line for the ride were injured when something went wrong with the coaster, sending debris flying their way.  They were taken to the hosptial with non-life threatening injuries.

Justin Vaughn was in line for the Tidal Wave when he noticed something wasn't right.  He and his friends thought they saw one of the ride's cables detached.

"We heard a pop noise," said Vaughn.  "It came through the building on top, and it looked like it was all falling down.  And that's when everyone ran down the ramp to the bottom."

A spokesperson for Trimper's Rides says the family-owned operation has an unblemished safety record, and that it intends for that to continue.  He also says Trimper's decided to bring in the engineers from Holland in order to help figure out what went wrong, and get the ride back up and running safely as soon as possible.

The engineers are from the same company that built the Tidal Wave.  The ride is expected to be shut down for several weeks.  State inspectors will also take a look at the ride over the weekend.
