Three hurt in car explosion

HURLOCK, Md. -
Three people were hurt after their parked car burst into flames and then exploded Saturday afternoon, fire officials said.
State Fire Marshalls are investigating how the interior of a 2000 Pontiac, two-door sedan suddenly caught fire around 3:30 p.m. Saturday injuring, Yashica Pinder, 24, her brother, Aaron Pinder, 26, and Lakita Bolden, 31.
The car was parked in the 6200 block of Mission Hill Rd. in Dorchester County when it burst into flames. All three were able to escape the vehicle before a propane tank in the trunk exploded, destroying the car.
The Hurlock Volunteer Fire Department doused the blaze in just three minutes but not before the car’s occupants received significant burns.
The Pinder siblings were flown to Shock Trauma and later transferred to Bayview Burn Center with burns and smoke inhalation while Bolden was flown directly to Bayview with burns over 60 percent of her body.
The Office of the State Fire Marshall is investigating.
