LARGO, Md. (WMAR) -

The trial for Jason Scott, the man accused of killing a mother and daughter in 2009, has been postponed.

Jason Scott was to stand trial today for the murders of Delores Dewitt and her daughter Ebony Dewitt in 2009, however, the prosecution has asked for more time before proceeding.

The prosecution also says a witness related to the victims attempted to take her own life.

In January 2012, Scott was sentenced to 100 years in prison after he was convicted of armed carjacking, producing child pornography and stealing firearms.

A new trial date has not yet been set.
