SCOTLAND, Md. (WMAR) - St. Mary's County Police are investigating the reported assault of a 10-year-old by camp counselors.
On August 8, police responded to Camp Brown in Scotland for the report of an assault. When officers arrived they spoke with a camp administrator who reported that an attendee, a 10-year-old male, stated he had been assaulted by three camp counselors during his stay at the campground in July.
As a result of the investigation, three suspects were identified. Shane Baptiste, 19 was charged with assault in the second degree. Two additional 17-year-old juvenile males were identified and referred to juvenile services for further legal action.
