PALMER PARK, Md. (AP) - A Prince George's County police officer is accused of driving under the influence while off duty.
The police department says Corporal Derrick Neumer was arrested in St. Mary's County on Tuesday by the Maryland State Police and charged with driving under the influence and other traffic offenses.
Police say Neumer was off duty and not driving a department vehicle at the time.
Neumer is a 13-year member of the department. Police say his police powers have been suspended, and the arrest is being investigated by the department's special investigation response team.
A phone message left at a listing for Neumer was not immediately returned.
