The National Thoroughbred racing association (NTRA) announced Friday that Laurel Park in Laurel, Md. has been fully accredited, Pimlico Race Course re-accredited.
The accreditations come from the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance following a complete review of all racing operations at the two Maryland Jockey Club facilities.
Each raceway went through a similar process that involved inspections, revised protocols and compliance confirmations.
“We have worked closely with Laurel Park and Pimlico, its horsemen and the Maryland Racing Commission throughout this process at both Maryland Jockey Club Facilities,” said NTRA executive director Mike Ziegler.
With the accreditation, Laurel Park now joins the likes of Belmont Park, Churchhill Downs, Pimlico and Kentucky Downs.
