Westminster - Police and the department of parole and probation have a new tool to fight crime.

Livescan features digital fingerprint and pictures which are linked into the system so officers can see if a suspect is on parole or probation.

A demonstration was held Wednesday at Westminster's Parole and Probation office.

Authorities say the new technology will really help officers in the field.
