Missing man found dead in his own trunk

A missing Frederick County man has been found dead in the trunk of his parked car in Montgomery County parking lot. 

 

The victim, John Ryan, 37, was pronounced dead on the scene. His body was taken to the Medical Examiner to determine cause and manner of death. 

 

Ryan's car was found by a US Department of Homeland Security investigations agent at about 2:30 p.m. Monday in a parking lot used by multiple businesses in the 15000 block of Somerville Drive in Derwood. 

 

The car was taken to the State Police Barrack in Rockville where it was searched and Ryan's body was found. Investigators saw what appeared to be trauma to the body, but didn't specify what kind of trauma. 

 

Police also found some marijuana and cash in the truck. 

 

Ryan's wife reported him missing on November 29, after last seeing him at their home on the night of November 27, but he had left before she awoke on November 28. 

 

No arrests have been made in this case, and a motive still is unknown.
