WASHINGTON (AP) - A man who carjacked a minivan with a disabled 4-year-old girl still inside has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Twenty-year-old Deandre Robinson of Landover, Md., pleaded guilty in October to carjacking. He was sentenced on Friday.

According to his plea, a woman was getting into the minivan at the Children's National Medical Center on Feb. 9, 2011, when Robinson took the car with the girl strapped in her car seat.

Robinson drove a few blocks, put the girl underneath a parked car in freezing temperatures and drove off.

A cable company employee who saw the child huddled under the bumper of the car alerted police.
