BARCLAY, Md. - A Queen Anne's County man has been arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder after shooting at a woman.
Police say they responded to the 1400 block of Barclay Road in Barclay in response to a 911 call. Upon arrival at the residence, Sheriff's Deputies made contact with the occupants who told them that there was not a problem at the home.
About 40 minutes later Maryland State Police received a call from Chester River Hospital in regards to an assault victim. Once officers spoke with the victim they determined that it had been related to the earlier call on Barclay Road.
Sheriff's Deputies also responded to the hospital at this time.
At the hospital a woman reported to police that she had been shot at by Antonio Jamal Harris while leaving his residence. While attempting to leave Harris told the victim to stop and when she continued to leave, the suspect had used a gun to shoot at her.
The victim continued to run from Harris and drove herself to Chester River Hispital.
The victim was treated for minor injuries to the face from glass shards from her vehicle's window that had been shot out.
Harris was taken into police custody and charged with attempted first degree murder, attempted second degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault and reckless endangerment.
