CALVERT COUNTY, Md. (WMAR) -

A search continues for a Virginia man that went missing last night after his boat overturned off the Chesapeake Beach.

The missing person, identified as 28 year old Angel Ayala Cerros of Alexandria, went missing after his 12 foot vessel capsized during high winds, heavy rains, and rough sea conditions.

Four other people that were on the boat were rescued at around 4:20 a.m. by the Coast Guard.

The overturned vessel was later found more than 1 mile from the shore.

Aerial searches have been completed, and search operations continue for Cerros with assistance from the Coast Guard, Charles County Fire Dept. and the Anne Arundel County Fire Department's Side Scan Sonar Units.

The Maryland Natural Resources Police reminds all citizens and visitors that attention to boating safety saves lives, and is of paramount importance when enjoying Maryland's waterways.
