LA PLATA, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police have charged a man with rape, human trafficking and other sex offenses after an underage girl says he raped her in a La Plata hotel.
Troopers say on Tuesday they located the girl, who had been reported missing from Virginia, in the hotel. Police say the girl told them she was forced to have sex with the man she was traveling with, for drugs.
Police say they found the man and he was arrested.
Forty-three-year-old Ronald W. Cheek of Greenbelt has been charged with numerous offenses. He is being held without bail at the Charles County Detention Center.
