Man, 73, charged in child sex offense

FREDERICK, Md. (WMAR) - Frederick Police have arrested and charged a 73-year-old man for abusing a 4-year-old boy.

On June 15, detectives were notified of a possible sex offense involving the child. Through the course of the investigation Benjamin Franklin was identified as a suspect.

Police say Franklin had sexually assaulted the boy who he knew.

On July 3, Franklin was arrested on charges third degree sex offense and sex abuse of a minor.
