HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Joanna Guy has been crowned Miss Maryland and will represent the state in the Miss America pageant next year.
The 20-year-old Garrett County woman beat out 23 others to win Saturday night. Guy won the swimsuit and talent preliminary competitions and was the overall interview winner.
This was her first Miss Maryland pageant contest. She was previously named Miss Queen State.
She also won the state's teen competition.
She will receive a $10,000 scholarship.
