BALTIMORE - 50,000 are now without power according to BGE.com.

Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties make up the bulk of those outages right now. Baltimore County has more than 28,000 customers in the dark.

Since storm operations began on Sunday, the utility company has restored power to more than a quarter of a million customers.

Reporting outages

Customers are always reminded to stay away from downed power lines and to report them immediately by calling 800.685.0123.

Power outages should be reported by calling BGE’s automated system at 1.877.778.2222.

BGE Restoration Plan

In severe storms with widespread damage, BGE said they first physically assess damage, which means you may see BGE and contractor vehicles crisscrossing the area. If you see a truck leave your neighborhood before your power is back on, BGE says to rest assured that they are not ignoring your problem.

BGE said they may need to repair or replace larger power lines or equipment before the line to your home or business is restored. BGE can’t safely do overhead work with bucket trucks when the wind exceeds 25 miles per hour, which will effect when they can begin work in restoring your power.

The company says it can not give exact time estimate of restoration and to plan for multi-day outages.
