House speaker to swear in new Delegate

Darren Swain to fill seat of Tiffany Alston

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -

House Speaker Michael Busch is scheduled to swear in a new member of the Maryland House of Delegates.

Busch will be swearing in Darren Swain on Monday in the House chamber.

Swain is an assistant vice president for alumni relations at Bowie State University. He also served in the House from 1999 to 2003.

He is filling the seat of former Delegate Tiffany Alston, who was removed after entering a plea deal to settle two misconduct cases last year.
