SILVER SPRING, Md. - Counselors are offering assistance to Discovery Channel employees after a gunman carrying explosives entered the company's headquarters building and took hostages.
A corporate spokeswoman for the channel, Catherine Frymark, says the counselors will be onsite and that the building will be open Thursday for limited hours so that employees can retrieve their belongings.
A gunman took three people hostage at the building in a
four-hour standoff Wednesday. The gunman was shot to death by
police and all the hostages escaped unhurt.
