FREDERICK, Md. - Authorities say gunfire erupted during a large fight in downtown Frederick and one person suffered a serious cut or stab wound.
The fight occurred during the afternoon rush hour Monday near West South and Degrange streets and involved males and females. Lt. Clark Pennington, a Frederick County police spokesman, says the group scattered after the shots were fired.
Officers later stopped a car near the Fifth and Bentz streets for a traffic violation and found a passenger suffering from a cut or stab wound.
The victim was flown to a hospital, where he was in serious but stable condition.
No arrests have been made.
