WASHINGTON - Washington's mayor and the governors of Maryland and Virginia are getting together to discuss transit
issues in the region.
Mayor Vincent Gray, a Democrat, will host Republican Virginia Gov. Robert McDonnell and Democratic Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley at the district government building on Friday afternoon. They'll be joined by Metro general manager Richard Sarles and Metro board chair Catherine Hudgins.
Gray's office says the officials plan to discuss issues including safety and Metro's governance. All three jurisdictions appoint members to the Metro board and fund the transit agency.
The meeting is closed, but they plan to address the media afterward.
