Maryland State Police say they've charged a Florida man in a Frederick County crash that killed two people.

Police say Watson Pierre, of Sunrise, Fla., was taken into custody Monday night after being released from the hospital.

The crash occurred Monday afternoon when a tractor-trailer loaded with oranges and heading north on Route 75 turned a sharp curve and overturned onto a southbound pickup truck.

Two people inside the truck died.

Three others, including Pierre, were injured.

Police say Pierre was the driver of the tractor-trailer.

He's facing charges of criminally negligent homicide and failure to control speed to avoid a collision, though police say they haven't determined how fast he was driving.

No phone listing could immediately be found, and it wasn't clear if Pierre had a lawyer.
