BALTIMORE - Lots of Marylanders do great things every day without getting noticed, but ten of them are now being honored.
Ten heroes, chosen from about 100 nominees, were given the Dunkin Donuts "Thanks to You" community hero award, for going above and beyond to keep their community running.
They were nominated by friends, family members, and co-workers.
Stacy Carroll with Dunkin Donuts presented the awards.
She said, "someone who started an urban farm, someone who's a police officer and he does volunteer firework, someone who manages a program at Casey Cares, someone who created a run/walk ministry that improved women, to exercise and get in better shape."
"So they're all over, all different walks of life, all across the greater Baltimore area."
Winners got an American Express gift card, and a year of free coffee and donuts at Dunkin Donuts.
