BALTIMORE - It’s September, students are back in class and the leaves on the trees are starting to change.
But, one thing hasn’t changed; the need to help feed Maryland children.
That is the mission of the Maryland Food Bank all year long. The food bank serves 975 food kitchens in the Baltimore area helping them reach families so they won’t go without a meal. Food banks officials said they are reaching record distribution year round. The food bank is now distributing the same amount of food in July as in November.
Pastor Richard Brown and his wife, Pastor Kimberly Brown-Whale organizes a soup kitchen, “Table of Grace” at Essex United Methodist Church. The weekly gathering feeds 150 people every Wednesday.
He said their program benefits greatly from donations given to the Maryland Food Bank.
